Marching Band & Colorguard


The Del Mar High School Marching Band and Colorguard proudly competes in the Northern California Band Association.  In addition to several competitions in the fall, we also perform at numerous community events such as the Grace Ave. Halloween Parade, the Campbell Veterans Day Commemoration, The Bunnies and Bonnets Parade and many more!

Battery Percussion Section!

BAND CAMP is required for all participants in the fall field show.  Camp dates are as follows:

2017 DATES!

Leadership Training   Friday, July 28th, 9A-5P, DMHS Band Room
(Leadership team, section leaders, Drum Major)
Special Guest presenter, Mr. Paul Everts of Dublin HS and his "Band Together" Program. 

Band Camp    Monday, July 31- Fri. Aug 4, 9AM-9PM
REQUIRED for all participants.  Bring Lunch, dinner provided.
A $25 Donation is requested to cover cost of dinners all week and overnight camp.

Overnight Camp   Sat. Aug. 5-Sun Aug 6  12N-12N
Our annual tradition at Mt. Madonna Park!  Games, contests, overnight camping.  All band members and their families are encouraged to attend. 

 

Super Saturdays   Aug. 19, 26; Sept. 9, 16, 23  Oct. 21; 9A-5P
These are required day-camps that help us to refine and perfect our competitve show and competitive parade selections.

FUNDRAISING
It takes a great deal of money and other resources to run a successful marching band program.  We offer several ways for students and their families to help raise much needed funds to pay for our additional instructional staff, transportation to the competitions, uniform purchases and cleaning, the music and drill that we perform, and much more.  Here are a few examples:
